Art is an integral part of culture, for Wajukuu it is an essential communication medium. Without culture, we are lost. We believe that the arts have the power to transform individual mind set and a community behavior. Wajukuu art festivals do not only show case our talents or to celebrate our culture but also to enhance our local image and identity. Through the festivals we create a positive impact by improving the perception of our place and our people. These festivals are critical in providing access to the arts in our local communities and a chance for the artists to meet the public, and vice versa. We create a platform to engage with large and diverse audiences. Wajukuu festival started in 2015 after a series of kids party every December in previous years. Over the past few years, it has grown to a bigger event with each year celebrating a different theme and topic.
